The web site www.irishgenealogy.ie is dedicated to helping you in your search for records of family history for past generations. This site will assist you in providing valuable information on the many ways of tracing your family history. You can view over 1.3 million pre-1900 church records free of charge.
Please note that although Irish Genealogy Church Records begin in 1825, the records for Cahersiveen Parish are available from 1863 only as unfortunately, earlier records were destroyed in a fire.
www.irishgenealogy.ie includes the Central Signposting Index (C.S.I.). The Central Signposting Index (C.S.I) contains links to other resources with over 3 million genealogical records. The C.S.I. will also help you trace that elusive Irish ancestor.
This site is hosted by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism. At present there are 1,334,000 Church records of Baptism, Marriage and Death available to view free of charge on this website. Of these, 734,000 Church records are from Dublin City and 600,000 records are from Kerry. These Church records were computerised with funding from the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism and through the work of the Dublin Heritage Group and Kerry Genealogical Research Centre.
Unfortunately, Cahersiveen has four possible spellings and births, baptisms etc have been listed under all of them over the years so we recommend you try all of them in your efforts to track those ancestors…..
